I've posted this at GoS but maybe someone at LJ could help too :3 I'm getting annoyed at a skirt I'm trying to make. Its a really pretty combo I saw on Tumblr ages ago with a dark bell skirt, gradient tights, and patterned wedge shoes with bows. 



I'm having problems with pixelation and it is making progress on it super slow. I'm using a mesh by Sentate. Has anyone else recoloured this mesh before? Is it just me...? I've not made clothes for a while to be honest so maybe it is D: I'm importing the textures in SimPe to get rid of the pixelation but maybe there is a better way, in Gimp? Anyone know..?

Or does anyone know of a better mesh to use? I know there is a shoe mesh out there with bows but it is a ballet pump, so I wouldn't be able to do the pattern at all. Ideally I'd like a shoe mesh which has both, but maybe it doesn't exist. 

If I stick with this mesh then the top of the tights need to be lighter, the tights need a better texture overlay, the skirt needs to be lighter, the skirt needs a texture overlay, and I need to stop being cranky about it all :P

Allotments! I'm going to build up the community side of my hood through lots which are necessities to sims. I've always wanted to have allotments, and with Seasons they are possible! Well, kinda. They do the job a bit. They are small plots which sims can use as veg patches and gardens. They all have different themes. Some act as a simple retreat for sims that don't have a garden at home.

(I usually type out entries on DW and crosspost them to LJ, so now I see the rich text change people were talking about! I'm already feel confused. Hopefully this works..)

The past few weeks have been chaotic and over the next few days I should finally have some free time to actually play the game. I have the itch to continue building up my  downtown hood - but what to make? I'm still trying to make shops only using the CC I currently have (and as I am still without decent internet so can't go on a downloading spree, this is a good plan) and am feeling a little stuck. I have ideas for the outskirts of the town, but not the centre.

For the outskirts, I want a few allotments, gardens/parks, swimming pools, gyms and graveyards. For the town centre, all I can think of is a smart restaurant (and while I remember, I wanted to have some sort of noodle bar somewhere, inspired by vintagecat). I think I need to build up the town centre some more, but what to do?

I have a lot of people on my LJ who have fantastic hoods so how do you all come up with new lot ideas? :)
